About Pinto Ayocote / Acerca del Frijol Ayocote Pinto
Our Pinto Ayocote Beans (Frijol Ayocote Pinto) are a large, speckled heirloom variety native to Mexico — same beautiful tan-brown speckled pattern as common pintos but easily 3 times the size. Meaty, creamy texture, with a rich earthy flavor and gorgeous appearance on the plate.
Shipping directly from our warehouse in Texas — means fresher product, faster delivery, and authentic Mexican origin you can trust.

Pinto ayocotes hold their shape beautifully even after long cooking — perfect when you want bold, intact beans on the plate (not mushy refritos).
Recipe Inspiration / Receta Sugerida — Heirloom Ayocote Salad
Ingredients (serves 6): 1 lb cooked pinto ayocote beans (cooled) • 2 Roma tomatoes (diced) • ½ red onion (thinly sliced) • 1 avocado (diced) • ½ cup cilantro (chopped) • 1 jalapeño (minced) • Juice of 2 limes • 3 tbsp olive oil • ½ tsp Mexican oregano • Salt & black pepper to taste • Optional: ½ cup queso fresco
Steps: 1) Cook 1 lb soaked pinto ayocotes 2–2.5 hours until tender but intact. Drain & cool. 2) In a large bowl, combine cooled beans with tomato, onion, avocado, cilantro and jalapeño. 3) Whisk lime juice, olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper — pour over salad. 4) Toss gently to coat. 5) Top with queso fresco if desired. Serve at room temperature with grilled meats or as a vegetarian main with warm tortillas. Showcases the beans' beauty and flavor.

What is your return policy?
Because we sell fresh and perishable food in bulk, we accept returns in two situations:
- Quality defect attributable to us — product received spoiled or in unsuitable condition, an incorrect item shipped, or a product that doesn't match its description. We cover return shipping.
- Unopened product — if you change your mind, you may return any item still unopened, unused, and sealed in its original packaging exactly as we shipped it. Return shipping is at your cost.
Requests must be made within 3 days of receiving your order, with photos. If approved, you choose — a replacement or a full refund.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?
Contact us within 24 hours with photos of the outer packaging and the product inside. All orders leave inspected and properly packed, so transit damage is the carrier's responsibility — but we'll help you file the claim, since the shipment is insured under our carrier account.
Do you sell wholesale / in bulk?
That's most of what we do. We supply restaurants, bakeries, Mexican grocery stores, spice blenders, and foodservice distributors across the U.S. Most products are priced per pound, and the price drops as volume goes up.

Do you offer payment terms?
Payment is due at the time of order. We don't currently offer net terms or credit accounts — this keeps our per-pound pricing as low as it is.
El pago es al momento del pedido. No manejamos crédito ni términos net.
How should I store my spices and dried fruit?
Keep everything in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once you open a bulk bag, transfer what you're not using into an airtight container. Whole spices hold their aroma far longer than ground. Dried fruit stays plump sealed; refrigeration extends shelf life in humid climates.
Are your products authentic Mexican?
We import directly and ship from the border at McAllen, Texas. Our Ceylon cinnamon is true cinnamon from Sri Lanka — not the harsher Cassia most U.S. supermarkets carry.
